Q. What languages are available in FYI Mileage?

FYI Mileage supports the following language interface:

English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese

 

If you would like to help us with the translation of additional language, please email us at support@fyimileage.com. If you notice anywhere in the App that the translation is not correct, please email us as well so that we can fix it.

Q. How to add a New Trip?

February 10th, 2009

1) Touch the “Add Trip” icon on the bottom, or an empty data entry field on the Home screen to go to the “Add Trip” screen.

2) Touch the field “Tap here to add trip name” to assign a title to your entry.

3) Scroll through the “Start” and “End” odometer. The “Trip Distance” and “Deduction Amount” will be adjusted accordingly.

The Trip Distance can also be entered via a keypad, by touching the Trip Distance field; the End Odometer will adjust according to the distance entered.

4) Choose the “Status” of your trip (Paid/Unpaid).

5) You can also add notes in the designated field below.

6) You can also touch the “Detail” tab above to choose the Date, Destination, Purpose, Rate, Car, and Driver for the trip.

7) Touch the “Save” icon on the top right corner to save the entry.

Note: If you are entering a New Trip for a car different from the car set in your Default Settings, please select the Car first in the Details tab before entering the Starting & Ending Odometers.


Q. How to change odometer unit (miles/km)?

1) Touch the “Settings” icon on the bottom of the Home screen.

2) In the “Unit” field, you can switch between Miles/KM for the odometer unit.

Q. How to add a destination?

1) Touch the “Settings” icon on the bottom of the Home screen.

2) Touch the “Destination” field on the Settings screen.

3) A screen will pop up, asking if you want to add a Destination from the “List” (saved destinations in FYI Mileage application), or “Address Book” (saved addresses in the device).

4) If you select “List,” the existing list of destinations will be displayed on the screen. Touch the “+” icon on the top right corner, and enter the new Destination in the field provided, then touch “Done.” If you select “Address Book,” it will display the addresses saved in your iPhone/iPod Touch device; you can simply select an address, and it will be saved as a new destination in FYI Mileage.

Note: You can also add destination by touching the “+” icon on the “Destination” screen while adding a new trip.

Q. How to delete a destination?

You can delete a destination, simply by sliding your finger across he destination you want to delete. A red “Delete” icon will appear next to it, so you can just touch that to delete.

You can do this from the Settings screen, or while you are adding a new trip.

Note: Deleting a destination will not affect the destination information assigned to previous trip entries.

Q. How to add a purpose?

1) Touch the “Settings” icon on the bottom of the Home screen.

2) Touch the “Purpose” field on the Settings screen.

3) On the “Purpose” screen, touch the “+” icon on the top corner. Enter the new purpose you wish to add in the entry field that pops up, and hit “Done.”

Note: You can also add purpose by touching the “+” icon on the “Purpose” screen while adding a new trip.

Q. How to delete a purpose?

Q. How to export the payment status Graph?

If you want to export your graph, you can take a screenshot of the graph by pressing the power button while holding down the round home button. The photo will be saved in your device’s Photo Library, where you will be able to email your image.

Q. How to export Report data to .CSV/HTML file?

1) Touch the “Reports” icon on the bottom of the Home screen.

2) Under the “Filter” tab, select the date range of the data you want to export with the “From”/”To” options.

3) Specify the Destination, Purpose, Car, Driver, and Status if you want to export specific data in the date range selected; otherwise, select “All.”

4) Touch the “Export” tab, and select either Email or Wi-Fi export.

5) If you select “Email” export, you will get an option to export to report type CSV or HTML. Select the report type, enter the email address to which you want  the data sent, and touch “Send” on the upper right corner of the screen.

If you select “Wi-Fi” export, first launch your computer web browser, then enter the address shown to display options for report type CSV or HTML.

Q. How to export a Single trip entry to iXpenseIt?

1) Display the trip entry you want to export on the screen.

2) Touch the “Export” tab, and touch “iXpenseIt.”

3) The application “iXpenseIt” will load, and will display a New Record for you “FYI Mileage” trip record. The Category will be “Auto,” and Subcategory “Mileage.” The details of the trip will be automatically entered in the Notes.

4) Touch the “Save” button on the top right corner to save the exported record in iXpenseIt.

Note: Touching the Export tab will automatically Save the trip entry.
